What is a Dermaplane Facial? A Dermaplane Facial removes unwanted peach fuzz and skin cells with the use of a surgical blade, allowing better product penetration. This increases cell production and exfoliates the skin giving a smooth canvas for makeup. Skin is first cleansed and dried, to prepare for treatment. A scalpel-like device is passed over the skin to gently skim away old, dead skin cellus vellus hair that can cause your skin to look dull or uneven. By doing this, it brings newer, fresher skin cells to the surface. Walk-in appointments may be possible if you haven’t had waxes for 72 hours and have no cuts or wounds to the face. How long do the results last? Results are immediate with an improvement over the following days, lasting from around 3 weeks. Will I need repeat treatments? Yes, this is always recommended to prolong results. We’d expect repeat sessions to be needed every 3-4 weeks, which can be discussed with you during your consultation. Are there any risks related to dermaplaning? You may experience mild redness after the first few sessions, which will subside. Sometimes, dryness or peeling is experienced, but this often clears within a couple of hours following your treatment. All risks will be discussed in the consultation prior to treatment and you will be provided with aftercare advice via email. What is the recovery time? There is minimal to no recovery time needed. You’ll be able to carry on with your normal activities, including work, after your treatment.
